Base: The base of the board is the part of a snowboard that touches the ground, and commonly has words/brands written on it. It's made out of fiberglass. Edge: The edge is a sharpened strip of steel metal that runs along the side of the snowboard that give the board edge. The sharper edge you have the fast you will go, but the duller the edge you have lends to more safety. Laminate: Wood is the laminate, which refers to a piece of wood that is sandwiched in between the the base and the core. The wood makes the board strong enough that it won't bend when you are going down the hill.
